VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Cure JM Foundation
I have served as a volunteer for the Cure JM Foundation since 2011, and I have served at the national conference for five years in a row by making posters, putting together packets, decorating for the banquet, providing childcare, and fundraising. Together with my mom, I have raised over $25,000 to fund research on Juvenile Myositis. I have provided education to thousands of physicians and hospital staff to raise awareness of the rare disease. I have served as a teen volunteer to give newly diagnosed teenagers someone to talk to about what to expect and how to cope, and I cofounded a Teen Advisory Council to give teenager feedback to the organization and to get more teenagers involved in the Cure JM Foundation.
The Cleveland Clinic Patient Experience Association
I served as a Special Advisor to provide monthly support to the association by providing patient input, writing blog entries, and giving feedback on advisory council applicants. I also started a patient-led blog for the association to inspire discussion and change in patient experience and recruited other patients to write about their experiences.
The Big Event
I served the local Auburn community by doing yard work for local businesses and families.
